CC's plot is undoubtedly the most convoluted plot ever. But the game-play made up for it, if you ask me. Well it didn't make up for it, but it made it a helluva lot easier to deal with. It's like beer when it comes to sex with a fugly chick. Yeah.

Did I forget to mention that you switch bodies with your lynx demon father for a few hours of the game?
REVIVE THE HATE EDIT: Crap, Monks ninja'd me months ago. That's like super ninjary. Uhh...you're dead in the other world for some reason (YOU GOT ATTACKED BY A PANTHER DEMON WHO MERGES WITH YOUR FATHER OR SOMETHING) and find your grave, which was the high point of the game, it all went downhill from there. When I saw that I thought I was in for something good. Also they cut out everything about Magus, which I will reiterate again and again and again and again. WANT TO ROLL HIM AROUND A BIT? NO, NO, IT'S OKAY. IT IS ABSOLUTELY SAFE, AFTER ALL.

And now people think they're putting Magus back into CC...in some kind of nonsensical, illustrious, retrofitting excuse for continuity.

So people think they're going to rerelease CC? I know they tried to make the continuities match up better using new endings on Chrono Trigger DS, but they
just based crap off of what people on the internet have said all along. Dalton, for example, causes the Porre Uprising, which is what everyone on the internet
assumed. What this means is that when they remake FFVI it will be revealed that Gogo really IS Darryl/Gestahl/Adlai Stevenson.
My main point is they shouldn't have bothered trying to increase the continuity between the two games because I'd much rather forget CC ever existed and they just reboot the franchise with a different sequel to Chrono Trigger. Eh, well people are stupid anyway. I doubt they'll remake/revamp CC, and I'm quite sure we won't see a new installment in the series ever. Whatever
though, if wishful thinking is something these kids are into, then kudos to 'em.
Gogo isn't Adlai Stevenson: Adlai Stevenson is Gogo. Fact. ![]() |

That's because people like the folks at Chrono Crisis have "schisms", otherwise we might be able to get some fan sequels.

Wait for Crimson Echoes to be released. That's gonna be one helluva fan sequel/ROM hack. At the end
of this month man, the end of this month. Man.

Looks like it got fucked the minute you posted it, Mav. Conspiracy? Do you really work...FOR THE MAN?!!!
" Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes was a fan project modification of the Chrono Trigger ROM begun in late 2004. Development continue thanks to a dedicated group of fans through 2009. By May 2009, the game featured ~35 hours of game play, 10 multiple endings, and 23 chapters, much like the original Chrono Trigger; it was around 98% complete. The plot featured the original cast as they struggled against a new villain risen from the legacy of Zeal. The team planned to release Crimson Echoes on May 31, 2009 as the first feature-length fan Chrono series game, and an unprecedentedly exhaustive work in the ROM modification community. On May 8, 2009, Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes received a cease & desist letter, along with all other game modification activity (even research) at the Chrono Compendium. In compliance with the letter, the development team ceased development on the game, and existing modifications (including Prophet's Guile) were taken down. We thank those fans who followed the game's development, and also those who poured countless hours into the vision of a fun, new Chrono game, made by fans for fans without copyright claim or intent to make profit. We understand the frustration. I sincerely hope this action is a sign that Square Enix cares about the franchise and intends to produce future titles, and not merely a shortsighted legal exercise that will further alienate a tired, neglected fan-base. Signed ZeaLitY, Saturday May 9th, 2009" Yet another reason never to buy another Squarenix product ever.

That is truly some fucked up shit, man. They should have not even said they were making it and waited until the very end so they'd release it without this
kinda shit happening.

Yeah, I heard about it this morning. At first I figured it was just a ploy to get the hack a lot of attention, but now I'm thinking SE really did pull the
C&D (again). We can discuss it here.

I'd say we should boycott Squarenix but I've been doing that without like even thinking about it because I don't want any of their games. So
it's not really a boycott.

I'll probably forget that Squarenix is stupid and shitty when DQ9 comes out or something, though. In a way I can't blame Enix for Square's idiocy,
since they're sort of still there or something. I guess? Kind of weird in a way. I mean DQ has never really let me down but it's now owned by the
people who let me down all the time.

I thought Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross were pretty much unrelated. As I recall I could never find any connection between them aside from the name and the
fact you couldn't name the main character "chrono", then again my CC copy stopped working halfway through.

There was a connection, but it can be hard to see in a sea of drugs. :P

Snufflewumpy Grotkins wrote:Without spoiling too much, I can tell you that its relation to CT becomes more explicit the longer you play. Sadly the connection is blurred by what some consider an extremely convoluted plot. It's not erroneous, to fans who pay very close attention, but to others it's just fucked up. I mean, they focus on a major secondary character...that's the connection to CT. By the way, welcome to the Realm. ![]() |

I still need to play it more. I kinda lost interest towards the beginning, but will soon pop my copy back in and give it a good go. Especially since i'm
getting back into an RPG mood.

The beginning was so damn slow. Fucking fetch quests and other randomness. But overall, it's a decent game. It's a little stranger than it needs to be,
but it's certainly appreciable.

Yeah, I'm still early at the beginning. Serge just found out he has been dead ten years, met up with Kid, went through that cave place, now about to head
to Termina. Its getting pretty interesting.
I'm liking it. I just need to find time to play it. So hard with RPGs these days, but I love them so much.
